Dog Boarding Extra’s

Dog Boarding Extras

At West Coast Pet Care Centre, we want to make sure that your canine friend has the best possible experience during their stay here. That’s why we offer a range of additional extras that you can choose to add to your boarding package to make their stay that extra bit special.

Customised your best friends holiday with any of the activities below!

Playtimes.

Our playtimes are 20-minute off-lead sessions in our outdoor exercise yards. These playtime sessions involve interaction with other dogs (if they are dog friendly and we can find them a suitable match – your dog’s safety and enjoyment come first so if we can’t find a companion they get along with, we will ensure they have one on one play-times with our skilled staff), a selection of toys to play with, or cuddle time with our animal attendants. We will assess your dog’s interests and choose what they prefer to do during their playtimes. By the time you return to pick them up, your dog probably will have had a better holiday than you!

There are 3 packages to choose from:

  • Bronze package (1 daily playtime)
  • Silver package (2 daily playtimes)
  • Gold package (3 daily playtimes)
  • Or customise your own package just for your best friend.

Canine Hikes

If your dog really enjoys going for hikes, you will definitely want to add these for your dog throughout their stay. Our country hikes are on-lead walks through the local bridle trails that surround us or within our property. If your dog is friendly, we can also find a doggy friend for them to walk with. We walk at the dog’s pace, they can stop and sniff all the interesting smells (as well as mark every tree they come across) or take us on a brisk walking mission – whichever they prefer! Your dog’s safety and their enjoyment on the walk are our priority – with that in mind, we highly recommend this service, particularly for those higher-energy dogs (huskies and border collies, we’re looking at you!), or those canines who are used to daily regular walks with their owners.

  • 10-minute hikes allow your best friend the chance to investigate our facility grounds. This hike is popular with our older holidaying guests.
  • 30-minute hikes normally occur off-property down the local bridle trails. Perfect for canines who enjoy a casual adventure.
  • 1-hour hikes are perfect for our adventurous canines who enjoy going the extra mile. Subject to availability, these occur only between May and October, on days below 24 degrees. We will also require a vet health check and in-house assessment to make sure your pooch is up for the challenge! Available during out off-peak periods only.

Treat Sessions.

We have two options of treats for the lucky doggies in our care. Our Yummy Tummies are a great option for dogs that need a bit of extra stimulation – they are Kongs filled with a chicken and potato mixture and then frozen to make them last that little bit longer. And if your dog loves peanut butter or honey, then our Paw Creams are the way to go! These are peanut butter and honey flavoured homemade ice-creams which are the ideal treat on warm days. Many owners love that after their dog has had their playtime, they can relax and cool down with their treat for the afternoon.

Brush-outs

We understand that some pooches require additional grooming to keep their coat well maintained. If your dog needs some extra grooming, we will happily give them a luxurious 20 minute session where they are brushed and cuddled at the same time!

  • Price dependent on fur length and condition. Please contact us for your personalised quote.
  • Please note that our brush-outs do not remove any previous matting

Nails

Do you struggle trying to trim your dog’s nails? If so, our experienced animal attendants can do them for you hassle-free! Doesn’t your dog deserve a manicure while you’re away?

dSHED

If you are constantly exasperated with your dog shedding all over your house (and your clothes… and your furniture… and everything else you own), then why not get someone to remove all of that excess hair from their coat with a dSHED! During the dSHED, your dog will be washed and conditioned with our de-shedding shampoo, then we massage their coat and blow dry it with our dHSED drier. Lastly we use special combs to remove all of the dead fur, undercoat and minor knots and matts. Hint: get this done just before you pick up your dog – you will definitely be thanking us after!

Our team are here to care for your furry friend all year round!
