Anna’s behind the scenes
If there’s one thing you can count on when working with animals it’s that they don’t care much for appearances and have a great sense of humour and timing when it comes to embarrassing their humans.
So you can imagine my nerves when I discovered that our lovely pooches and cats were to be showcased in a piece that WA Weekender was doing on West Coast Pet Care Centre. When the big day rolled in there was no need to fear! Our cats were at their sassiest as exemplified by gorgeous Flossy and Fred Oakey, while Tigger, Crash and Mr Sparkles Perrin may have succeeded in out-charming Dan Paris himself.
In our reception, little Candy Ludick the chihuahua took to the limelight like a duck to water as she and her owners were surprised by the camera crew. After our very own Danni was interviewed it was time to showcase some of our canine holidaymakers and training dogs and I’m so proud to say they were on their best behaviour! Toshi Gill and Chase Tsokos did a sterling effort representing chocolate Labradors everywhere and little Scout Bogle was oblivious to the extra spectators as she bounded along cheerfully.
In a surprisingly small amount of time it was all done and we were left to continue with our daily routines. The finished product was a beautiful snapshot of what we do here day to day. I’m left wondering if the video might have actually been even better if it included all the amazing, heartwarming, hilarious and adorable real life animal bloopers that make working here so special.
