Best Dog Beaches in Perth
Perth is famous for its beautiful beaches and whilst the councils try to keep the most pristine beaches dog free, there are a number of stunning dog beaches throughout the Perth metro area that are simply amazing. Remember that the best time to visit the dog beach is typically the morning because Perth’s “Fremantle Doctor” (sea breeze) typically comes in around lunch time at which point the water becomes mirky and choppy. Unless of course you and your dog love the wind in which case the afternoon is a great time to visit a dog beach in Perth.
There are so many great Perth dog beaches but here are our top three picks for the best dog beaches in Perth.
Peasholm Street Dog Beach
If you are looking for the nearest dog beach to Perth city, Peasholm Dog Beach (also known as Floreat Dog Beach) offers a huge white sand beach area meaning you’re never left feeling cramped. The white sand beach stretches all the way to City Beach meaning you are able to go for a long walk and find a nice spot to stop and go for a swim. There are plenty of bins along the beach which contain poo bags in case you forgot your own. The waters are crystal clear and there are no rocks. Watch out for the waves when there is a big swell. A big plus about this dog beach is the shower, toilets, and dog fountain facilities at the car park. There is a nice shaded grassed area to relax and wash yourself and your dog.

South Beach
If you live near Fremantle, South Beach dog beach is a really friendly dog beach situated just south of the Fremantle Sailing Club. There is plenty of parking near by and it’s only a short walk from the car park to the beach, so on those hot days you won’t be burning your feet too much. There is a bunch of terrific dog friendly cafes nearby also which means you can enjoy a coffee whilst you’re down there. Definitely a favourite amongst the locals.

Dog Beach Etiquette and Safety
It’s important to maintain control of your dog at all times, even if it’s off the lead. Please practice responsible dog ownership and protect your dog from getting in a situation where it or another dog may get scared or hurt. Socialisation is great but it must be controlled.

I love walking the dog on the beach but my favorite beach is whitfords but I wished it was a lot longer for the amount of dogs that use it it would be lovely even if Quinn’s was a dog beach as not many people swim there because of the rocks, it would be good for people in the north to walk there dog even if it was not not winter months.
