Frequently asked questions about boarding and dog training:
How to choose a dog kennel?
We recommend calling around, get an understanding of their prices and services available. Then having a look at the facility before committing to any dates.
What should I expect when my pet arrives home from boarding?
A lot of animals find the boarding experience to be very tiring, especially if it is their first time, therefore you may find that, just like you, it may take your pet a few days to recover from the excitement of their holiday. Here are a few tips to help your pet regain their usual energy levels and get back to their enthusiastic selves in no time.
Is there any facility that can look after my dog or cat overnight?
Yes, West Coast Pet Care have now introduced a service for overnight stays only. Where you drop off late in the evening and then pick up first thing in the morning. To find out more: https://www.west-coast.com.au/
How much does dog boarding cost?
Boarding costs vary depending on the company you choose to go with. It will depend on what is included; facilities, services, accreditation, health, and hygiene are the main factors which influence pricing. Boarding facilities which have a high price typically have higher standard they are required to meet. Those with lower prices may tend to meet the bare minimum standards, and we always recommend viewing the facilities available to yourself before you decide.
Cost structure of dog and cat boarding?
Unlike hotels or other human accommodation, pet accommodation is typically charged per pet per calendar day. However, some facilities may offer an overnight price depending on your needs.
How much does it cost for dog training?
Prices will vary depending on the style and quality of training you are after. Group classes are typically the cheapest, where the Train and Board tends to be more expensive but is more thorough. Personal lessons costs are somewhere in the middle between those two styles.
How long does it take to train my dog?
Length of training is dependent on the task at hand, the personality of your dog, your time available to commit, and consistency of other people who handle your dog on a regular basis. These would be the main key points, there are other factors which also need to be considered and will also impact the time frame accordingly. Our trainers at West Coast Pet Care Centre would be more than happy to help in your dog training needs.
What is the best age to start dog training?
Any age is good to start but the younger they are, the easier it will be establishing good habits and solid foundations.
